What is the U.S. Beer Open?

The U.S. Open Beer Championship is a national competition open to both licensed breweries and award‑winning homebrewers, held annually in Oxford, Ohio. It evaluates a vast array of beer styles—more than 140 or even 170 categories—making it one of the most diverse competitions in the U.S. Winners receive beer‑stein‑shaped medals for Gold (1st), Silver (2nd), and Bronze (3rd). The brewery earning the most points across multiple entries is named Grand National Champion. Since 2009, this competition has been unique in allowing top home‑brewers to compete alongside professionals.
